Dr. Leah Fleischhauer,

AuD., CCC-A, FAAA.
Dr. Leah Fleischhauer was born in upstate New York in the small town of Rhinebeck. She moved to North Carolina in 1982 with her family and has lived here ever since. Dr. Fleischhauer attended NC State University and graduated with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Disorders and Spanish Language and Literature and a minor in International Studies.
She continued down the path of higher education with a Master’s of Education degree in Audiology from the University of Virginia. After working for ten years in Audiology, she furthered her education and obtained a Doctor of Audiology degree from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona. Dr. Fleischhauer is no stranger to Audiology; she worked for over 20 years in Raleigh at a Neuro-otology private practice and dedicated herself to her patients and her love for making a difference in people’s lives.
Dr. Fleischhauer has a passion for electrophysiology, vestibular diagnostics, rehabilitation, and intraoperative monitoring. However, her scope of audiology further extends into cochlear implants, osseointegrated devices, hearing aids, and diagnostic hearing assessments for all ages. In her spare time, Dr. Fleischhauer is a martial artist and devotes her time to her family.

Saranne Lentz-Barker,

AuD.

Dr. Saranne Lentz-Barker started her career in a medical setting where she could work with hearing aids, cochlear implants, bone-anchored hearing aids, and assisted with intraoperative monitoring; however, she did not feel she was able to give her hearing aid patients the time and attention they deserved. That led her to pursue a private practice that would allow her to focus on the patient’s needs and provide patient-centered care. Dr. Barker believes every patient’s needs are unique and needs a treatment plan that is individualized for them. She works with the patient to develop the plan while incorporating evidence-based best practices, like real ear measurements and treatment validation measures, to guide patients to hear their best. Dr. Barker enjoys working with patients with hearing loss and tinnitus. She has also taken courses in cognitive behavioral therapy, meditation, and Tinnitus Retraining Therapy. Tinnitus research is ongoing, and management options change rapidly. She is constantly learning and looking for the newest options available and evaluating their effectiveness to provide patients with the best opportunities to succeed.

She is a proud member of:

  • American Academy of Audiology
  • American Speech-Language and Hearing Association
  • American Tinnitus Association
  • North Carolina Academy of Audiology
When away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their Redbone coonhounds, Rosie and Scarlet. She loves being outdoors, working on their property, and kayaking.
